Courage

We are still struggeling with the loss of our Fleurtje. It is strange how death can come so sudden, and there is nothing you can do about it to fix it, you can't fix death, you just need to deal with the sadness, and that is what we are doing these days.

I constantly see her in front of me lying on her back in the 'love me' position, looking at me with her big loving eyes, feeling her soft fur. She was constantly near us and I avoid the spots she usually liked as she won't be there.

We will remember her forever, but pain will get less in time. Days will slowly get better, and we will get back in our normal routins, don't give up on us. Thank you so much for your kind comments and convo's these past few days, they mean alot to us.

I took these pictures yesterday, a tiny little fella of whom I admire his fearless and courage.

  3. I'm so very sorry for the sudden loss of your darling Fleurtje :(

I understand how you feel, having my cat of 17 years die in my lap a couple of years ago. The immense sadness will eventually start to fade and you will then be able to smile as you remember her sweet face and antics. Warm hugs to you both.

  5. Lots of hugs; cry a lot, it really helps. And yes the pain will be less in time, and the memory of Fleurtje will be there. But the sadness stays too, although you learn to handle it. I can still sit alone in my chair with Peggy on my lap and think of Lemy, and sometimes cry a little.....

  6. Wow, the snail must feel very comfortable around you. That is probably because he/she knows that you are such an animal lover!

My heart really goes out to you both. When I hear my Anni meow I often wonder what it will be to wake up in the morning and not have her to greet me. When my other cat Beatrice died I had to call in sick from work at the time. I cried the whole day.

Yes, time will heal your heart. Big hugs to you both.
