Another Family Member

As you all might know by now, we have 14 dogs (used to be 15 but we found a very good home for one). It used to be hell to get out of the house, the garden door was directly connected to the street so when a dog escaped it was quite a hassle to get him/ her back. After a while we had made a second wall and door and now even if they do try to go (pure out of curiousity) they end up between the two doors.


So why I'm telling you all this? We have a new family member since several months: a Chameleon lives between those two doors, it is a safe and quiet place and has some nice plants and a place to hide for the rain, you can see him on the right side if you look closely.

He didn't like me taking pictures tho, I got some bad looks :)

Our Creative Space...

Finally the creative spaces are back! I sure missed them, altho it is sometimes a challenge to show a creative space every week, I love challenges :)

Sometimes you have to improvise to make things, I found this one quite funny: we had to attach the urchins with tape to the table so that they would dry straight.

And the result are these candle holders, will be available in our giftshop soon!

Flickr Favorites- Storm and Electricity

Don't worry, the reason of this dark mosaic is not depression. We had a big storm at the night between thursday and friday. When we woke up at friday morning electricity went beserk and the lights were burning twice as much as normal which indicated that the coming electricity had a much higher volt then usual. As we were still not really awake and without coffee in our systems it took us a few minutes to realize what was happening and of course the fact that smoke was coming out of the tv was not a good sign. We switched off the electricity asap, but several machines are now in early retirement. Also our neigbors suffered the same thing and we were without electricity for 2 days. Now a fight with the electricity company will start to let them pay the damages *sigh*.

This is a photograph I took of the seaside from our town, Marmaris. During summer time it is full with boats for daily trips and full with tourists all sunburned and happy :) In winter time the waves are the owners of this place, quiet magical.

Abbey Road

Selling online has some difficulties, I mean when you try to sell something in real life you don't have to give alot of information, the person can see it with his/ her own eyes. But when you sell online buyers buy it according to the information and images you give.

That's why item photography is so important, but beside that also the discriptions. One of the hardest part is giving an item a name! How do you name an object?

This bag with the black and white details somehow reminded me of zebra crossings and with that the album cover of Abbey Road of The Beatles.

So here they are, the Abbey Road bags!

Now available in our bag shop.

And without knowing we apparently followed a super trend, Hollywood is all over in black and white stripes these days :)

My inspiration of this week is from the ring I've just listed in our shop, I looked around for a theme and the ring was still lying next to me. I love the spicey colors too, warm and natural.

3 Exhausting Days= Holiday

As you might know from previous posts, we buy most of our supplies in İzmir. Usually we wake up very early to drive for 4 hours, visit the shops for 5, 6 hours and drive back 4 hours, a totally wrecking day but highly needed at least twice a year. So now that the Christmas rush etc is over we thought it would be fun to have a little holiday and stay a few nights in Izmir, do the shopping a little slower and at least wouldn't have the journey all in one day.



How little did we knew... the longer we stayed the more wrecking it was :D
First day, tuesday, we went out of the house at 9 oclock, first went to the postoffice for some last minute packages and eventually arrived at 2 p.m. in İzmir. We started to visit some of the shops we needed to go and after 4 hours were so tired that we decided to go to the hotel. Apperently the restaurant of the hotel had no food so we ordered something, tried to sleep in a bad bed and started the second day tired and hungry...
Hospitality is wonderful in Turkey, you are always a welcome guest and everywere you get coffee, tea and if you are hungry food will come right away.
Here we ate in the shop where we buy our packaging materials :)


After a second bad bed night and 2 days of beadshops we were pooped and out of money LOL so we finalized our little vacation at the third day with a highly needed visit to IKEA and started our journey back home to arrive home at 5 p.m. on thursday (we were lucky roads were empty).

This and That

2 weeks ago Petronella aka P8Accessories had a guessing give away, it was her birthday and the ones who guessed her age correctly could choose anything from her store. The question was easy for me as she is 9 days younger then my mother :)

Bella Beserk

You might wonder what a Drag Queen is doing on our blog. This is Bella Beserk, performed by John Hurley, we met John here in our town about 1,5 years ago and made several necklaces for Bella. The two first pictures feature two of them, I found these pictures on the web and thought it would be fun to show our most colorful customer!

John Hurley is beside a stage performer also the costume designer of the Bella Beserk outfits, a make up artist, the designer and maker of all the headpieces and also paints. The shows involves alot of artistical ideas and devotion.
