Madrid 3: Street Artists

A lot of people are trying to make their living on the streets of Madrid. Musicians, live statues, selling items and also begging. Some have found a very fun way, like this headless lady who gladly posed in pictures for whatever you could spare in money.

You can see this kind of live statues in many cities, but a few were very unique.

This man with hardly hands and arms, worked hard for his money. He makes little decorations with soda cans. The small items are priced to your liking so you pay whatever you want, the planes were priced. I found it wonderful that he wasn't begging and instead was constantly making new pieces right there on the street with garbage and a pair of scissors.

A photographer with an antique camera.

This girl was making lovely wire twisted jellyfishes and seahorses, we recommended Etsy to her and bought a jellyfish brooch, as we very well know how great it feels to sell a piece.

A bucket of soapy water, and two sticks with a rope is enough to give lots of joy to kids and adults. This man had so much fun with his soap bells that everyone had fun too, it was really a joy to watch.

These were just a few examples of the many people on the streets, more Madrid posts will follow so stay tuned :)

A Lovely Surprise

With my mum being ill for the past 5 days, a woman scratching my car while she was talking to her phone and driving like a lunatic, my finger got badly burned with boiling water and on top of that the hours have changed so that the days are short and evenings dark I'm very glad to also have some positive things going on :) A little while back I got the wonderful news that I won this beautiful art piece by Francesca Lancesi.

It arrived beautifully and carefully packaged, along with all kind of other yummy things.

Her work is exactly my style so I was very happy that after my first visit on her blog I won her giveaway. I really want to create an Etsy wall, with all my artwork from different Etsy artists!

I also received gorgeous cards and bookmarks, to see more of her work visit her Etsy shop.

Azulado Candies

The postman brought me some yummy ceramic candies today. I'm saying candy as they not only look delicious but they smell delicious too. These beauties are all made by Sandra from Azulado, whom you might remember from the raffle we organized a few months ago.

Coincidentally I was wearing a perfectly matching dress when it arrived the colors are deep and beautiful. Sandra herself is working hard to make her shop her income for her son and her, I admire her strength which she has shown many times during these hard times.

The pieces are beautifully detailed, and are much more finer and lighter then you would expect, making them perfect to wear even during the hot summer days we have here. The beads below will become some pretties, she is planning to make more supplies, so check her shop often as they are really wonderful!

Saturday Super Woman

There are some amazing women on this planet. You know the kind that seem to be able to do anything and everything? I've decided to feature those kind of women and wanted to start with Lisa from Lil Fish Studios.

When you go to her blog you'll find out what I mean, she lives in the middle of nature and takes all advantages that comes with it, felted embroidered pebbles, felted miniature acorns, wooden furniture for her kids, kids clothing, even painted shoes, wooden toys and so much more. Everything she does she does with natural materials she collects and she has an amazing artistic eye, a true pleasure to go through her blog, her shop is always sold out and you have to be really fast to catch something.

She also does wonderful art projects with her children.

Lisa says: 'Living the rural life in the woods of Minnesota, I find myself creating art that reflects the variety of textures and colors around me. The tiny worlds of fungi, moss, and lichens are particularly intriguing to me. I use primarily recycled and natural materials in my work, especially wool and wood.'
Which sums up perfectly what you'll discover at her blog.

We are the lucky owners of these two pebbles and an acorn adornment :)

All images are from Lil Fish Studios.

Stay tuned for more Super Women!
