The rules are simple; make a fun outfit with items from Etsy (you can include one of your own items) with the mosaic maker or photoshop or Polyvore. Post it on your blog with the links to the featured shops, and add a link linking to this blogpost so that your readers can see the other outfits as well, this way we will all be connected :) You can then add your mosaic here below by clicking on the 'add a link' button so that everyone can see your outfit here as well, you can leave your link till Saturday evening.

Our Creative Space...

Slowly our workspace is getting organized. Every inch of wall is in use now :)
I've made some shelves and with clear boxes things can clearly be seen, for easy searching.

And some pieces in progress, mostly with old kuchi pieces, for some modern ethnic pieces.

Turkish Traditions

One of the things that makes a different country exotic is often the traditions. In Turkey there are religious holidays but there are also Republic holidays established by the first president of Turkey, Atatürk (litterally translated: Father of all the Turks).
Ome of them is April 23, the day for the children.
This day involves dances prepared for weeks before hand. I think the parents enjoy this more then the children, it is a day that they can proudly show of their child.

I think the children would rather be on their skateboard or playing games on their computer, but they do get alot of extra attention :)

These days are always messy with lots of music and people and food of course.
Funny enough 23rd of April the weather is always sunny and is the start of Summer.

I didn't take much pictures of the dance it self but more of the cute mess beforehand. As it all started much later then anticipated the children started to get tired and overheated with their layers of traditional costumes.

The dances are traditionally a serious act so the children look very serious too, which is quiet funny to look at.

Next holiday will be 19th of May the day of youth and sports, where simular activities will be taken place :)

Moo Cards

I think we are one of the last people in the creative world who are giving mini Moo cards a try :)
They took me a good part of an entire day to make as I made 25 different compositions. We didn't want them to be very promotional but still representing our work. So I went for natural compositions, mostly with sea treasures we found on the beach.

The back side has a part of the Sea Fever peom written by John Masefield, with the very appropriate words:

I must go down to the seas again,
to the lonely sea and the sky.
And all I ask is a tall ship
and a star to steer her by...

With sea and star in it I loved it!

The fronts are with seashells, coral, beach pottery, stones, pebbles, starfishes, seahorse, sanddollars and more. They will be added randomly with sea themed purchases. Pictures of pictures are not very pretty they look really nice in real.

Our Creative Space...

Among many projects this fun bag is in the make.

The colorful crochetted circles are now beeing connected with a linen hemp yarn, the irregular shapes and colors reminds me a bit of all the wild flowers that are popping up everywhere now that Spring is here.
