Our Creative Space...

We have two of these lovely chairs, they were an icky ugly brown which took many days to clean off. I'm now painting them in cheerful colors, matching some vintage embroidery (which you can actually see in the photos if you look carefully).

Can't wait to finish these, I think they are going to be quite smashing!

Our Creative Space...

Today we had some lovely weather, not too hot not too cold so we brought our work outside to enjoy it. While mum is working on a new bag to felt, I'm working on a ottoman.

As you can see we were not the only ones enjoying the weather ;)

Tassel Fun

After the large tassels for the ornaments I showed on Monday, here are some tiny tassels. Making tassels with forks was a big surprise looking at the reactions on Instagram, but my mother learned it like that in Spain at school :)

After finishing the tassels I added brass caps with loops for a more chicer finishing. I then threaded them with many tiny glass seed beads and brass beads in to multi layered necklaces.

For now one in shades of blue, green and turquoise...

And one in shades of pink, peach and purple but more shades are in the planning.

Also thinking about bracelet in this style!

These two bohemian necklaces are available at StarDelights :)

Raindrops Gathering

After an extremely hot October and November we finally had some very rainy days. Actually the amount of rain can get a bit overwhelming after months of dryness days of water pouring down, but once the sun starts shining again every thing seems green, fresh and lush and the air smells deliciously earthy.

Somehow on these rainy days I always feel like making a cloud, or two. I usually make small, medium and large sized driftwood clouds but sometimes when we find a very large suitable piece I make an extra large one. Actually the last one I made in such a size was last year, but finally this week I found a nice big piece and made a super large cloud with it right away.

I found it ridiculous to water the garden in November but as it was pretty hot and dry the garden got a little sad, it is now happy again :)

The other day it was cloudy but not raining for a bit and I took some pictures of new items. But the sun was playing hide and seek and with every few pictures the sun came out making the pictures with to much shade, so when the sun came out I took pictures of the plants with their pretty captured raindrops, and when the sun hided again I took pictures of the items I wanted to list, it was a fun game :)

I love how the plants keep hold on those precious drops and drink them slowly.

In the mean time my big cloud turned out wonderful, I can completely imagine it hanging on the head side of a bed making it a perfect dreaming place :)

This extra large beauty is now available in our decor shop, among with smaller driftwood clouds.

What do you love most about the rain?

Reviving Creative Juices

It has been 5 years since I last painted a painting. Lack of time is of course a good excuse, but what really stopped me is lack of space. All my walls are full of paintings and then I have some who never seen a wall and are just waiting to be seen.

As all my walls are full I fall asleep every night with them in sight, which always makes me itch to start painting again.

I am now slowly reorganizing my little house and am going to make the time and space to start painting again as I enjoyed it so much, and we all can use some extra joy in our life's.

Apologies for the crooked hanging paintings, I will be changing the composition of the paintings soon and will hang them all straight!

I will slowly un-dust my brushes and paints and get going, starting is half the work, I need to make that jump!

As for making space I decided to sell a few of my paintings, with some I am not ready to part (yet), and for now there are only two in the shop but I will be listing more the coming days, so check out the paintings section in our decor shop if you are interested.

I started with some vibrant geometric ones, some portraits will follow soon!

Happy New Year!

We have been a little quiet lately, actually extremely and unusually quiet! Time flew by so fast these past 2 weeks and here we are in 2015 already!
We have been very busy with coming up with new unique pieces which will slowly appear in the shops, even today the first day of the New Year new pieces are flying out of our hands, I guess we are in a good creative vibe, we just didn't get around to show it to you, which we will :)

Here by we are wishing all our readers a wonderful, happy and healthy New Year, may some of your dreams come true, but not all, as you have to keep some for the years to come :)

Our Creative Space...

I haven't been sharing our creative space for ages, which is a shame, especially when you know that we have at least 10 on going projects at any giving time, as you might imagine from the amount of new items that pop up in our shops all the time :)

Any way here is the one my mother is currently working on, with a funny super vintage little weave 'gadget'.

The results are fun and lovely detailed woven squares, which we will attach together once their are enough and transform in to a bag.

And to proof that I was not exaggerating when I said at least 10 on going projects at any given time, here are more than 10 only in the jewelry department, so without the bags and decor :)

Our Creative Space...

We have a new toy, it is something that mum has been wanting for a long time and finally we could afford it. It is the Eclips electronic cutting machine, which cuts leather, vinyl, cardboard etc by simply putting it in to the machine and choosing the shape you want.

We have lots of lovely colors of fake leather and I have been cutting them up and want to rivet those shapes together to make a bag, I think it will look super fun :)

You have to put the material you want to cut on a sticky material, thin paper didn't work out well as it got stuck, but thicker material worked fine. One down point is that the stickyness goes away almost right away so if you are thinking of buying one, also stock up some spray glue to spray it as without it the material get stuck and it becomes a cutted mess.

We are also planning to use these kind of things for packaging, for a fun and festive finishing touch.

Bag in progress...

Quiet a complicated structure for a little bag but hopefully the result will be worth it.

There is still a lot of work to do hopefully in the near future you'll see the results :)

Our Creative Space...

A bag in the making. First step was crochetting more than a 100 little circles which from the front look like pompon's.

Second step was crochetting dozens of meters of chains which then were stitched and crisscrossed through the circles.

Then again chain, this time in a soft green, was crochetted to go through the other threads and connect everything securely together.

Now that these steps are finished it needs to be crochetted to become a bag, lots of work for a little bag but hopefully the result will be worth it :)
