Rainy Days Projects

It has been storming and raining non stop for 5 days now, great for the mountains and trees who suffer long, dry and hot Summers. Our poor old roof is less happy, but there are no roses without thorns :) So we have been stuck at home, our beach visits also haven't been possible for a while.

While we layer ourselves with jumpers, the doggies find warmth and comfort in each other. Poor Zeyno gets smashed under the weight of Toffee, like every Winter. Beside breathing with a little difficulty she never complains, even though she is not comfortable at all.

Under my desk I found these 3 side by side, the one in the middle is the little one who came a few months ago, as you can see she adapted wonderfully :)

We have been mainly working online, adjusting shipping profiles. This Christmas we had a lot of delays, USPS had a hard time keeping up with all the packages, so we now also offer TNT express shipping, which arrives in 4-7 days instead of the 15-30 days of Registered airmail. All of our listings needed additional information, a super boring job which I managed to let Star-mum do. She had a bad pay back though...

 She is crocheting a new clothing piece for the clothing shop, and her pay back is for me to working away all those threads, arrrrggg, a super boring job, but at least I can watch a movie while doing it :)

And I am working on a new weekender with vintage embroidery. These take a about a week to finish with all the leather details, you can see one here if you wonder how they look like once finished.
I am however failing horribly in accomplishing my January tasks. The piano stool will finish. And we are promised to have some sunny days from tomorrow on so I will also paint the walls, the chair duo however will have to wait till February as I haven't even started yet!

Raindrops Gathering

After an extremely hot October and November we finally had some very rainy days. Actually the amount of rain can get a bit overwhelming after months of dryness days of water pouring down, but once the sun starts shining again every thing seems green, fresh and lush and the air smells deliciously earthy.

Somehow on these rainy days I always feel like making a cloud, or two. I usually make small, medium and large sized driftwood clouds but sometimes when we find a very large suitable piece I make an extra large one. Actually the last one I made in such a size was last year, but finally this week I found a nice big piece and made a super large cloud with it right away.

I found it ridiculous to water the garden in November but as it was pretty hot and dry the garden got a little sad, it is now happy again :)

The other day it was cloudy but not raining for a bit and I took some pictures of new items. But the sun was playing hide and seek and with every few pictures the sun came out making the pictures with to much shade, so when the sun came out I took pictures of the plants with their pretty captured raindrops, and when the sun hided again I took pictures of the items I wanted to list, it was a fun game :)

 I love how the plants keep hold on those precious drops and drink them slowly.

In the mean time my big cloud turned out wonderful, I can completely imagine it hanging on the head side of a bed making it a perfect dreaming place :)

This extra large beauty is now available in our decor shop, among with smaller driftwood clouds.

Our windows are shacking as we speak, we have been having a storm for days now, a nice change after a very long summer.
Weather is a topic that is been used for small talk daily, but it is not a strange thing as weather also effects our mood alot. Just when I was mentioning that it is getting cooler, it got hotter again and very humid so it feels like we are in a Turkish bath 24 hours hours of the day.

We had a wonderful storm and rain yesterday, everything looks greener and fresher again. With every thunder the doggies come closer to us, they are such heroes :)

Those who have known me for a while will know that I love rain. The main reason is that we live in a place where summers start in april and end in october sometimes even november,  long long hot summer makes yo miss rain!
We had our first rain after months! So a happy rain dance from me :)

I love the smell of earth and grass just after the rain, when it is not too hot and not cold either. I love how the air feels fresh and clean and the world just seems like a fresh and lovely place taking a deep breath seems like a glass of energy drink then.

When it Rains, it Pours

After an extra long, extra hot, extra dry summer and a non existant (equally warm, etc.) autumn, we have now an ...

EXTRA WET WINTER. YAYY!!!

Yes, we are very happy with all this rain. Who could have thought when we lived in northern Europe that we would love rain so much?

Every thing is clean and luscious green.

We won't have water shortages this summer, I hope.

Magical Night

Could it be? After the clouds and rain friday findings, that it is really going to happen soon?
These clouds give us hope! Atleast we enjoyed the magical night with a full moon and gorgeous clouds, the sky was like marble!

Althought clouds means often rain, and many do not like rain, I'm sure these clouds are to love. And as it is still 40 degrees (104 F) here, we are really longing for some lovely grey clouds.
