Our Creative Space...

I haven't been sharing our creative space for ages, which is a shame, especially when you know that we have at least 10 on going projects at any giving time, as you might imagine from the amount of new items that pop up in our shops all the time :)

Any way here is the one my mother is currently working on, with a funny super vintage little weave 'gadget'.

The results are fun and lovely detailed woven squares, which we will attach together once their are enough and transform in to a bag.

And to proof that I was not exaggerating when I said at least 10 on going projects at any given time, here are more than 10 only in the jewelry department, so without the bags and decor :)

The Magic of Felting

I have done it now several times, but every time is like magic!
Knit, knit, knit till you have an outrageously large and shapeless garment, throw it in the washing machine ...and voila, a perfect fit.

The pattern is skimpy with directions. The slippers  are knit and than folded in an ingenious way. I strongly recommend that you mark the folding places like you see in the first picture, otherwise, the moment that you start folding you don't know anymore what is up and down and you are toast.

But the slippers are toasty :)

Our Creative Space...

Mum has been knitting lately, she finds it therapeutic. Although she buys a lot of yarn, it is still cheaper than a shrink and some nice things come out of it :) She always explains her next projects to me before starting and often I warn her that it will take her a while to finish it as the project is big and she doesn't knit very fast, but of course my warning always go to waste and she makes it anyway. About half way through the sighning and complaining starts but eventually she finishes them all.

Of course after all those complaints you would think she wouldn't start all over again, but she always does, actually right after one ends she starts a new one and so goes the cycle of signing, complaining and finishing projects :)

While I write this she already started to knit something else, but the one in the pictures is a beautiful blue round knitted bag. It was huge and in the same time she could have knitted a clothing piece.

As you can see my entire upper body fits in to it, but this bag was made of 100% wool and after a machine wash to felt it, it has a perfect size.

Now hardly my head fits in it :) The ribbles give a super fun detail, only the lining, closure and straps to do and it will be in the shop shortly.

Our Creative Space...

We have been having fun by knitting little pieces of left over yarn together.

It makes me all cheerful all those colors together and on the other side we are finally using up our big pile of little pieces of yarn.

We are planning to make something (hopefully) very cool out of this 14 meter (about 46 feet) long knitted rope, but we won't spoil the suprise yet by telling what it will become, first we need to actually manage making it :)

Another big pile of earthy colors are waiting for us to be used :)
