Home Progress
We finally managed to fix the table that has been lying upside down on the floor for weeks. The feet are new and putting everything back together took many hours. This table was our table in the Netherlands but had been in Kütahya (the old house that I mentioned a while back) for more than 20 years, besides the middle part which was in our attic, nice to have it all back together again.
The chairs are all mismatched vintage beauties, the house is pretty modern so it is nice to have some warm and playful furniture. Slowly the house is becoming a home, and with the table, the odd large L-shaped kitchen makes much more sense. We also went to IKEA for some new beds, still working on those!
We also made good progress on the atelier. Just moving a home is a lot of work but for us it is the ateliers that are the biggest task, both are fully packed, and we still are on the first!! But we are getting there.
Every time we go we fill up the car till full capacity the house then becomes a mess which we then clear up. It all takes a lot of time and effort but in the end, we will hopefully have a great working space!
The sewing side is looking good, but there is still loads of fabric to move!

Little in Between Project
Just to show that we sometimes make our furniture for ourselves :)
This was a large wooden tray originally used at a bakery to let dough raise, I scored a few of them and after a thorough cleaning they have been in storage for a year or two.
I sawed little shelves for it and after nailing those all in place it got two layers of white paint.
Here a sexy picture of me, glasses all foggy as it is still 40 Celsius degrees here I got all sweaty and it condenses in the plastic glasses, yes very sexy especially with my leopard night gown :D
But it did turn out cool, perfect for all our large thread bobbins in the sewing room. The only new thing was the paint, so a good recycle project too :)

Our Creative Space...
Today we had some lovely weather, not too hot not too cold so we brought our work outside to enjoy it. While mum is working on a new bag to felt, I'm working on a ottoman.
As you can see we were not the only ones enjoying the weather ;)

Our Creative Space...
It has been ages since I showed some creative process and although I show some newly made stuff often, the process is often so intense that we forget to take pictures :)
Today I was busy with a sterling silver necklace with a rough quartz, as silver's process is a little slower I remembered to take pictures shortly after starting.
After drilling the silver plate I stuck these cute handmade ball pins in it and soldered them to the plate, I had the pins placed at specific places according to the shape of the stone so that it will stay nicely in to place.
After that I marked the shape of the stone with a sharpy and sawed it accordingly, accentuating the shape of the stone in the silver.
After being in the pickle, it was washed cleaned in the tumbler.
Tadaaaa, the stone fits perfectly, it was already evening by the time the pendant was ready but to give you an idea :)
It also has a soldered bail at the back and I need to make the chain for it, but I am happy with the result :)

Our Creative Space...
Slowly our workspace is getting organized. Every inch of wall is in use now :)
I've made some shelves and with clear boxes things can clearly be seen, for easy searching.
And some pieces in progress, mostly with old kuchi pieces, for some modern ethnic pieces.

Our Creative Space...
As the preparations of the sea urchins take alot of time, we always do a larger bunch at once. These are the harvest of the entire winter, and are now in their last stadium which is covering them with epoxy. Before this they have been in 5 different preparations to be able to use them in our jewelry and home decor.
These shells are a very dull grey when we find them, but as soon as they are varnished their pearly details and amazing stripes and patterns pop up.
In the mean time a rainbow bag is in the make, for the happy cheerful who are not afraid to use some color in daily life :)

Our Creative Space...
Our huge re-organization of our work space is slowly getting somewhere, well it was about time as we have been on it for weeks :)
We now have kitchen cabinets with sink and running water, which means more storage thanks to the nice big drawers and more working space and very handy for all work that requires water; our kitchen will now only be for cooking :)
In between we are also making new items for the shops of course, hence the extreme slowness of the cleaning up of our work space. But can you blame us? Who would want to clean up mess when there are so many fun things to do.

Our Creative Space...
Some hammering and texture experiments. Hammering is extra fun when you need to blow off some steam :)
Also some handmade hammered wires, I love that they seem like ancient rome style jewelry just with some knocks with a hammer.

Our Creative Space...
I while back I showed you our work space and told you it is a mess. You all said that it didn't look like a mess.
The thing is our workspace is light and large and you all got carried away by that :) If you look up closely it really is a clutter...
But within the clutter new collections are born, and I can't wait to the rain to stop so that I can take decent pictures of these necklaces, very happy with the results!
Our real project the past couple of weeks was a large renovation in our house. First in the living room and now we also have a much larger sewing room, which totally made the house upside down. Things are finally getting into place and soon we will show you the steps and end result of our new sewing room1
