London Trip: Lincoln's Inn Chapel

Today l went to a really special place. I actually went to lots of places but this one was special as there was literally no one there. 

 

I found it coincidentally on Instagram shortly before leaving for London at the page of @timthelondonwalker and it was an awesome tip.

The place is indeed magical but the most surprising aspect was while there were hundreds of people waiting to enter st. Paul's Cathedral, this place, which was walking distance away, was completely empty. 

lt was a luxury l did not expect, it was also wonderfully cool, and quiet.

An absolute 10/10 from me. Location; Lincoln's lnn chapel. 

The entire neighborhood and surroundings were amazing too.

London Trip: St. Dunstan in the East

I'm for the first time in England and will be spending a total of 6 days in London. The internet being as it is, suggested all kinds of London tips as soon as l started planning. Lots of budget-friendly or even free places were suggested in the dozens. 

I made a list of all the ones l liked online, and am slowly visiting them. St. Dunstan in the East was one of them, l found it absolutely magical. 

A green, quiet place in the middle of the city. Also much less crowded than other places near by, the church is located between London Bridge and the Tower of London. 

The church was largely destroyed in the Second World War and the ruins are now a public garden.

Originally built in about 1100, it was severely damaged in the Great Fire of London in 1666, it was then patched back up.

In 1941 it was severely damaged again, but was decided not to be rebuild and was opened as a public garden in 1971.

This place definitely gets a 10/10 from me.

Roadtrip: Borjomi, Georgia

 

I'm ridiulously late with this post, back from our trip in August. After our 3 day stay in Tibilisi we stayed one night in Borjomi on our way back home. You can see our route in my previous post, we hardly used the same road back.

I have to say that my view of this place is a bit clouded due to the fact that our Airbnb was horrible, it spoiled the fun quite a bit, and like all the other Georgian places people were again very unfriendly. I did love the lacelike buildings.

Borjomi is especially famous for its wine and water. Both don't have my interest. I did love that just like Tibilisi the Kura river goes right through it, and it was very green.

It was much more touristic than Tiblisi, but we only stayed for about 18 hours.

In the center of this perk was a fountain which apperently gives youth, people were filling bottles. Entry to the park has a fee, I however had no purse with me but was still granted access after I asked the guard who was suprisingly friendly.

The river was visible from almost anywhere in tis little town.

My favorite part was a church which was in the middle of the forest.

You had to go through a very green road and eventually had to leave the car and continue on foot.

It was cool and fresh, unlike the other places we visited in Georgia which were all hot and humid.

The church was beautiful and I wished I had more photos of the inside but there was a very unfriendly nun who said NO PHOTOS!! I was taken them without flash or sound, I'm pretty sure it was because she was selling photos of the place.

Once she noticed me taking photos she kept following me and I was not allowed in one room because I was wearing shorts ://

But nasty nuns and priest skulls aside I found it beautiful.

To avoid our crappy Airbnb as long as possible, we stayed outside till dark but did find a wonderful place to eat right at the river.
