Missing you

Yesterday, we lost Fleurtje. We are still in shock.

We brought her to the vet to have her spayed because she had very heavy menstruations. Estella brought her home afterwards and we made a cozy bed for her besides my bed. At a certain moment I realized that I couldn't hear her breathing. We tried to reanimate her but she was long gone, without a sound, without a clear reason.

She had been with us since 15 september 2007. She had silky ears, wolfen eyes and strong little legs. She reached up with her little arms when she wanted to climb from my lap to Estella's, like a little kid. She had a terrible bark. She was so sweet. There is a big empty place at home, a place that can't be filled, we are missing you so much, Fleurtje...

  1. So sad.
Knowing that Estella was right next to her as she fell asleep must have been a comfort to her...

  5. OMG I have tears in my eyes reading this and seeing your sweet angel... She was much loved and she sure KNOWS, even now. And I'm sure all our sweet beloved little angels are still with us in spirit.
A warm hug to both of you, Estella and Esther.
