Green Christmas

Christmas shopping time has begone! While it still seems far away, time flies and when you want something from overseas (like for example from one of ours shops *wink wink) it is better to start early to avoid late arrival stress.
To start the season I made this driftwood Christmas tree, all wood is found on the beach and the foot and steel stick going through the driftwood pieces are vintage so everything is eco friendly :) Available at StarHomeStudio.

And here are some great earth and financial friendly other ideas for Christmas:

Environment friendly packaging ideas with the sources from here and here

Toilet paper Christmas Calendar, you can find the tutorial here

And finally instead of watering trees for ages just to cut them down for a few weeks to enjoy I love alternatives, and if you have a small space this one is really great:

  1. Cool Christmas tree! I could see it in my dream house by the sea...
I love the advent calendar but there's no way I can get 24 rolls empty before december ;)

  2. Ah yes Christmas... usually I'm all into it and sculpting many Xmas related items, but this year not so much :)
I always wrap my gifts in craft paper ^^ I love its simplicity. And it doesn't come with a huge amount of inks.

  3. Time to go looking for your sea-urchin tree again :-)
We've seriously cut down on the christmas gifts in the family now the kids all grew up, I'm very happy to just be together, and spare the environment another bunch of things you do not really need. Now we make things for each other, my brother-in-law is very good at making special drinks (lethal baileys, and toffee-flavoured vodka e.g.), and my mother and sister in law make great preserves. Christmas is much less stressful and nicer like this :-)

  5. I really love that Christmas tree, simple and modern! and eco friendly! Beautiful idea of the wrapping paper. These last years I have been sewing my packaging close too, to not use any plastic :-) and to be original.

And the toilet paper or calendar is a funny idea, and great way to reuse them.
