Get The Look Vol.10

We have listed lots of new Vintage treasures lately so time for another Get the Look :)
I love the look of birdcages, not their purpose, they look great with plants. Also love Baskets, our bird cage is kind of both at the same time!

Love these egg succulents, perfect for Easter but also Spring in general. We have a small selection of beautiful vintage Easter decorations in the shop.

This colorful kitschy flower look is not for everyone, but you can't deny its warm and homey feeling :) Our antique mirrors would be a good start for this look!

I love house shaped boxes and shelves, for some reason they are usually used for kid's rooms, I like them in general. We have a fun House shaped basket box from the 1980's.

I have shown oars before but I just love them and no one can stop me from sharing them again ;)
We only have this pair left, a pretty set to put in a corner or hang on the wall.

Vintage Oars Decor ideas

I've listed two sets of vintage oars, one set is this beautiful pair.

Which you could hang above a bed, like found here.

I love the subtle stripe of this pair, it is done with a different type of wood.

I love the Nautical vibe of this hallway!

Hanging them above the couch in the living room is also a fun idea, you could hang a whole collection like that.

The other set of oars is a set of three widowed oars. They are gorgeous but lost their other half and are now happy with the three of them :)

You could use them separately, one as a stair hand rail.

Ours each have different lengths and colors making them a fun set.

As curtain rods they look very cool too, and here is a step by step on how to do that yourself.

Our oars still have all the fun details, making them genuinely nautical :)

I love this composition of sea related items together. This could be done anywhere in the house and could be changed when you get new findings.

You can also use all three together, and maybe add more in time.

You can also add them as accents above windows or doors.

There is also a coat rack in the shop made out of an oar that we found on the beach.

Get the Look Vol. 2

Here are some more home looks I love and you can recreate with items we offer in our StarHomeStudio shop.
I have already posted an entire blog post dedicated to vintage oars, but we do have some new ones in the shop, well not new as they are pretty old and hand carved, but newly listed. I love the idea to hang them in a set on the wall in a narrow room like a hallway as seen in the picture above at TheLilyPadCottage.

Speaking of oars I've made a coat rack of one with paint residue which I always love, the 5 hooks are all different old mismatched hooks, I painted them with an anti rust paint in the same color and now they look lovely and shabby together.

I find this bathroom (found on Apartment Therapy) in general beautiful, but I got a smile when I saw the shelf on the right as it looks a lot like the shelf I made with a thick beautiful piece of driftwood.

We are also slowly expanding our collection of vintage kilims in the decor shop. I love how the colors of the kilim are used for the pillows again at StyleMePretty.

Don't you just love old kitchen ware? It is even prettier when it is displayed like here on LovelyLife, I love the unusual arrangement!
We are offering an entire set made out of recycled tin; a kitchen rack with 4 funnels, 1 grater, 1 cookie cutter and one radiator humidifier.

A Beach Cottage

A few months ago I discovered the blog A Beach Cottage, where you can follow Sarah in Australia and her renovation of an old beach cottage. Her entire house is almost entirely white (even her dog) with loads of vintage finds. She always arranges everything prettily which wants to make your scroll and scroll through her blog.

In A Beach Cottage you can often see vintage oars standing prettily in corners or hanged above windows or doors, so I was very happy to finally find our oars hidden among our many vintage treasures.

As my Oars pictures are far from magazine style like pictures and to give you some ideas what you could do with them I'm showcasing here some beautiful pictures from this lovely Australian beach cottage.

Our oars are estimated from the 1930's -1940's entirely hand carved. I've sanded them to remove the sad remains of some very yellowed varnish chips so that they are ready to be painted as preferred or to keep them just beautifully rustic and simple.

They are very long and one got a little crooked for additional rustic charm.

Our oars are available at our home decor shop, StarHomeStudio. The beautiful images are all from ABeachCottage, take a look at Sarah's blog and instagram for more beautiful beach vibes.
