Touched by the Sea
Don't you just love beach pottery? Pieces of china end up in the sea, and are tumbled by the waves for months or even years, making the edges soft and the pieces unique. A beautiful mixture of men made material with touches of nature.
I love to use them in jewelry and when someone asked if we could make a cuff like this sold one again, I started right away, puzzling with the pottery pieces and vintage materials.
The combination of all these pieces with history makes each piece one of a kind.
At this cuff I added blue coral pieces (shaved to fit in the cabochon spaces) for an additional beach vibe in blue shades.
This cuff has a lot of beautiful details and only had a few glass cabochons left, all were removed and replaced with irregular pearls and a natural shaped beach pottery in the center.
These cuffs are at least 70 years old and made completely by hand with very primitive tools, yet with gorgeous results. They are nowadays hard to find luckily we bought a bunch years ago. Planning to make necklaces in this style too!

Get the Look Vol. 2
Here are some more home looks I love and you can recreate with items we offer in our StarHomeStudio shop.
I have already posted an entire blog post dedicated to vintage oars, but we do have some new ones in the shop, well not new as they are pretty old and hand carved, but newly listed. I love the idea to hang them in a set on the wall in a narrow room like a hallway as seen in the picture above at TheLilyPadCottage.
Speaking of oars I've made a coat rack of one with paint residue which I always love, the 5 hooks are all different old mismatched hooks, I painted them with an anti rust paint in the same color and now they look lovely and shabby together.
I find this bathroom (found on Apartment Therapy) in general beautiful, but I got a smile when I saw the shelf on the right as it looks a lot like the shelf I made with a thick beautiful piece of driftwood.
We are also slowly expanding our collection of vintage kilims in the decor shop. I love how the colors of the kilim are used for the pillows again at StyleMePretty.
Don't you just love old kitchen ware? It is even prettier when it is displayed like here on LovelyLife, I love the unusual arrangement!
We are offering an entire set made out of recycled tin; a kitchen rack with 4 funnels, 1 grater, 1 cookie cutter and one radiator humidifier.

Mid Century Revival
I didn't keep my promise to finish the infamous two chairs before starting anything else. As soon as I scored this super cool Mid Century chair I was itching to turn it in a beauty (again).
I love Mid Century furniture the structures are often gorgeous, it was a good period for furniture and a joke with my mum as she is Mid Century too she always has to ad that she is from that same good period and that she turned out well :)
Anyways this chair had gone through some stuff and lost most of the back wood. The entire skeleton was wonky too and needed tender loving care.
First step was to find new sticks for the back which I could not find in our town but did find online locally so I had it in 2 days.
As soon as the old sad webbing was gone and the new sticks in place it already started to look happier.
As we had a few rainy days I could not work outside and made a total mess of the living room (which is by now restored to its usual medium mess).
Sanding and stabilizing the piece took much more time than anticipated, after a few back aching days it was finally ready to be varnished.
New webbing was stapled...
And a mustard colored upholstery fabric stapled on top and below the webbing and the frame was ready!
Mum had scored this gorgeous piece of hand embroidery, I thought it was knitted or woven but it is embroidery, a crazy amount of stitches in gorgeous colors.
The cushions got at the back sides again the same mustard upholstery fabric and on the front the embroidery, a perfect match. The cushion covers have zippers so can be removed for dry cleaning.
Tadaaaaa! Always so very satisfying to see the before and after pictures after days of hard work!
These type of chairs often have pretty boring covers, this embroidery gives it a gorgeous bohemian vibes and makes it totally unique and one of a kind!
The chair is available in our home decor shop among other unique furniture pieces :)

Succulent Love
I am a sucker for succulent plants. Especially in the hot Summers we have here they are perfect, they don't die if you forget to water them for a while and they are equally pretty during the entire year. (Image above from: HappyInteriorBlog)
Last year I tried to propagate some with the technique to lay leaves on top of dirt, although many seem to use this technique mine was a complete failure. I now just stick the leaves or branches in the dirt and usually something pretty comes out of it without any hassle.
Ever since we have been beach treasure hunters we come across a nicely drilled stone from time to time. Some are drilled completely through, which I blogged about a while back, but some have nice deep holes making them perfect for planters. I have been using a few my self, but now decided to put some in our decor shop for others to enjoy too.
Taking these pictures was fun, although they took ages, the plants look adorable with these rough natural stones.
As the holes are not very large these planters are only good for succulents, cactus and air plants as they do not require much or any water. Roots won't be able to grow much keeping the plants adorably small and cute but healthy (tested and approved).
These pictures make me super cheerful, I love plant pictures, I guess that is why my Botanical and Flora pinboard is always fresh with new plants, if you are a plant lover too you might want to follow it :) A few of the planters are available in the StarHomeStudio shop, and I will slowly add more.
p.s. No plant was in any way harmed, damaged or killed during this photo shoot. All branches were cut from large succulents and are now planted to become their own little plants :)

March Projects
March has just arrived but it has been feeling like May around here. Warm days, cool nights, but very early in the year which reminds me of the beautiful Oscar acceptance speech of Leonardo DiCaprio about Global warming, you've got to love the guy for using his influence like that!
Trees are in blossom, making everything colorful and pretty.
That said I finished painting the walls which was in my to do list for the month as weather allowed it. The two chairs I have been postponing for two months are still waiting though! The driftwood table took much longer than anticipated, but this month I will finish them!
Of course that doesn't mean that we have been sitting still, with the lovely Spring weather, Spring inspired bags were bound to be made :)
This one with a vintage embroidery showing two sweet parakeets and flowers makes me smile :) It is available in our bagshop.
Daisies have been popping up everywhere, again early for the year. Most likely we will have another rainy period and then another Spring, or at least I hope so!
And another Spring inspired bird bag, again with a romantic couple :)
This one is done with punch needle embroidery making it slightly three dimensional and very soft. Also available at StarBags.
And finally some gorgeous vibrant poppies which gives little dots of red in the valleys.
My only plan for this month is first finishing the two chairs, and then we'll see what else will happen :) Wishing everyone a fabulous March!
